My Books for Children

One rainy summer day, my daughters (8 and 9 years old at the time) were looking for something to do that didn’t involve getting wet. So I gave my girls a story prompt and challenged them to write a story in 30 minutes. They enjoyed it so much that asked for another. I gave them another, and they wrote that one too.

By the time my girls asked for a third prompt (very demanding my daughters), the idea for for my first children’s book had formed. That book – Unleash Your Creative Monster – is a fun, and interactive guide to writing great stories. And I hope it will inspire you as much as my little monsters inspired me.

You can learn more about ‘Unleash Your Creative Monster‘ below.

Since then, I have written a novel for children called ‘Wishes Come in Threes‘ (a genie, a dog, a girl and a mystery), and another about a time traveller called Bob (zombies, punk rock, and banana bread). Those books won’t be out for a while, but I’ll post updates here or on my social media when I have some news.

Wishes Come in Threes

This is my first novel for children, and a special book for me as it was inspired by my daughters.

Here’s what it says on the back of the book:

A heartwarming, tenderly witty debut about belief – in friendship, in yourself and, maybe, in just a little magic.

“I don’t know exactly how wishes work. But I knew a man that did.”
Phyll is having a difficult summer. Her family has moved to the seaside, but it’s a long way from perfect. Her mum is sick, she has an enemy called Hilda, and someone is stealing dogs. Then Phyll meets Mr Djinn – a wise old man who insist s he’s a genie. It’s a tough claim to believe, until Phyll starts wishing for change…
